ooc: Millicon canonshare

Hey, y'all. :) Millicon is, er, fast approaching, and according to the schedule, we get to show an episode of BSG between 11pm and 12am on Thursday night.

Which begs the question: which one are we going to show?

I'm planning on bringing my DVDs and my external hard drive. Between the two of those, I have everything current covered (except for the webisodes, but why show some of those when we can show an episode?).

My suggestion for the episode to show is 'The Hand of God' -- it's early on enough that people won't be too lost, and it's got nearly every in-bar character in it except for (I think) Leoben. Tone-wise I think it also does a good job of getting at why BSG is awesome and why everybody should watch it. *grins*

(And if not that episode, my vote is for either 'Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down' or 'Final Cut' -- the former because it's The Only Funny Episode, and the latter because I like the documentary style.)

Thoughts? Other suggestions? And a note -- even if you can't make it to Chicago, please chime in. :D That way it will be more like you are there!

I'm not a BSG mun, but I vote for Hand of God. That's when I personally fell in love with the series.

Me no there, unfortunately, but I think "Hand of God" is a great choice. In some ways, I feel like "KLG 2" is a good choice but half a two parter seems unfair. I dearly love "Home" as well, but again, two parter. (Though it might explain the beauty that is the kids) I'd go with "Final Cut" over the Tighs, but that's a matter of personal preference and half-naked Lee.

Who am I kidding? As long as it's not "Litmus" or "Son Also Rises"-"Crossroads", I'm good. Rather not third season as my girl is a little cracked. And wouldn't her world explode if someone decided to app Sam? (That'd be a big no-no)

Yeah...I would vote no on both of those. But...anyone wanting to play Zak at the very least would have to assume that they would be in contact with Lee and/or Kara and so consultation would be the sensible thing to do...

Oh, thanks for asking! Um. I'm fine with this one for the reasons you mention, although I do hate the lack of Leoben.

Most of my favorites are two-part episodes or need really good understanding of series to stand alone, so I'm not going to suggest a different one except to maybe say that I really really hate Ellen Tigh and so can't stand that episode. But I'm happy to be overruled!

Do you (er, we) get to show a full hour or just one episode? If it's a full hour, maybe could someone play the Starbuck-Leoben-Roslin "airlock scene" from 'Flesh and Bone'?

Being, you know, just a bit biased--and also as I love the ep--I vote for Flesh and Bone.

But Hand of God is fabulous, and I will console myself with that if need be. And drag people off to show them Flesh and Bone on my laptop.

I will be there, yes, and I do like the ones you've suggested, but why not possibly '33'? Also, I really like the idea of showing just that scene in 'Flesh and Bone' for great Leoben-ness. Creepy bastard.

but yeah, as Lee-mun, I'm definitely not going to object to playinf 'Hand of God', or the Tighs, for the pure reason that that's just about the one funny episode in all of canon.

The reason I like 'The Hand of God' over '33' is because it's got a little of everything -- it shows the highs as well as the lows, whereas '33' is just...really low. *wry* If that make sense?

And also I think Lee is better in 'The Hand of God'. *grins* EXPLOSIONS.
